Sudbury Girls Lacrosse is a charter member of The Founders Girls Lacrosse League. Since our start in 1999, the mission of Sudbury Girls Lacrosse has been to teach and introduce the game of girls lacrosse in a safe and fun environment. We offer opportunities for girls from Sudbury and Lincoln – as well as other towns that do not have programs – in the first through eighth grades. We have grown to be one of the largest and most successful girls lacrosse organizations in Massachusetts. We encourage girls, regardless of experience level, to play lacrosse at any age.
There are four different divisions: 1/2 grade, 3/4 grade, 5/6 grade, and 7/8 grade. The traditional league plays games on Sundays in the spring. For girls looking for an additional competitive challenge, we participate in the Friday Night Pioneer League. This is a tryout-based team that competes with other select teams at both the 5/6 and 7/8 grade level. Players who qualify for this team – and choose to play – are required to play in the Founders Girls Lacrosse League games on Sunday.
Our program has successfully prepared hundreds of girls for high school play at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and other schools and many players have continued on to play at the collegiate level. In fact, are graduates have gone on to play at 41 different colleges and universities! We are fortunate to have several coaches with collegiate playing experience and we rely on L-S varsity players to help out.
